We work with stakeholders across organisations to improve environmental performance, manage legislative change, and develop practical methods to integrate sustainable ways of working into business operations.
We specialise in the development and application of instruments aimed at the development of environmental policies and environmental assessment of plans, programmes and projects. Equally, our staff has a wide professional experience on development of monitoring tools for the environment and to assess the efficiency of environmental policies.
Our staff has international experience in a number of countries including United Kingdom, Austria and Germany, and in a number of international organisations including the United Nations.
Managing Team
Alis Cantano leads our Environment and Sustainability Department since she joined Blas de Lezo in January 2007. Before moving to Spain, she worked for a leading consultancy firm in London as an environmental assessment officer working on environmental management projects and plans.
Prior to this, Alis was an environmental assessment officer with the Environment Agency for England and Wales (EA) where she was part of the National Environmental Assessment Service (NEAS).
Alis obtained her Masters degree in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE, UK), with merit. Her final dissertation was on "Sustainability Indicators".
Alis has also obtained a Masters degree in Sustainable Management of Marine Resources, with distinction from the International University Study Centre, based in Barcelona (Spain).
This followed experience on the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation – based in Vienna – as a sustainability and environmental consultant.
Alis is fluent in Spanish, English and German, and has working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
